Originally connected to the deity Corellon, Decimus’s past self walked away from divinity and eventually goodness becoming a Deva first and then a Rakshasa. Decimus spent the last ten lives as a Rakshasa. His ten remembered evil incarnations are where he gets his name. By the grace of Corellon and some other act he cannot remember, he broke the cycle. As punishment for his past lives, he has been stripped of all of his physical prowess and most of his link to Corellon. He has instead had to use the only means left to him, his knowledge and connection to magic. Through intense studying, he has started down the path of an artificer.
Decimus has dedicated this life to two things: the attempt to learn how he broke his tainted cycle and the attempt to atone by living his life purely and destroying evil. He has not learned much about his most recent life. Only vague memories and half-remembered dreams. Decimus is convinced that his knowledge of past languages will give him a clue. One language is Draconic and the other…he can never seem to place.
Decimus devotedly worships Corellon whom he holds responsible for breaking his cycle. Through a renewed worship of Corellon and dedication to the path of righteousness, he hopes to regain his memories and some of his powers. He now wanders townships who are touched by evil in any way and offers any aid he can. He does not believe in killing any creature who can be redeemed, but makes special exceptions for orcs, drow, and Rakshasa (the exception being a swift death). He hopes that his acts of good and purging of evil will prevent the horrifying cycle of evil.
Decimus wavers between serenity, seriousness, mercilessness, and a falsely represented joviality. In attempting to keep himself on the path of good, he will do no ill and tries to spread good cheer when he can. But in attempting to purge evil and restore himself, he will dive into dark moods when disposing of evil or condemning those that stray (including himself).
